VICTORIA "TORI" BACIGALUPO

•Primary (preschool)
Head Teacher

I have been teaching in the Primary class since 2011, and I absolutely love our school and community. My ties to Children’s House go all the way back to my first day of kindergarten. My twin sister and I attended CHMS from kindergarten to 6th grade! When we graduated from the upper elementary program, our class of six made the beautiful metal quail that are still displayed on top of our school building. I love my Montessori family and am still very close to the families that I attended school with here. I actually met my husband, Nick, back in fifth grade on our yearly winter Montessori ski trip! I was also roommates in college at UCSB with my best friend who also went to this school, and my family and I have stayed close friends with multiple other families that attended CHMS with me. This school helps create lifelong friendships.

At UCSB I majored in Environmental Studies and minored in Education. After graduating, I had the opportunity to come back and teach at CHMS. I’ve completed the primary curriculum through the Montessori World Educational Institute, and loved that while working with the materials again, everything felt so second nature. Working with your children is a huge part of my life and I love the relationships that we can build in the Primary classroom and our school as a whole. The Primary years are full of so much growth for the students and it is my pleasure to observe and be a part of that growth and developmental processes. My goal is for the students to have an environment in which they can move independently, with purpose, and in sync with the child’s development.

When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Nick, our sons Luke (5yrs) and Zack (3yrs) as well as our dog Luna. We love going camping together, spending time at the beach or lake and on the mountain trails. Any excuse to be outside; hiking, snowboarding, roller blading, kayaking or yoga - my family and I love to do it all. Teaching is truly my passion, and it is a pleasure to spend my day with your children.
