Summer programs at Children’s House are separate from our school year programs. We have structured our summer to work with family vacations, swim lessons, etc., by offering separate sessions for children ages 20 months to 12 years. We hope this works for your family so that your child can be a part of Children’s House year-round or just spend a few weeks with us.
Children, ages 3-12, newly enrolled in the fall, are encouraged to attend our summer sessions. Children, ages 18-36 months are required to attend our four-week Toddler session. These weeks provide a wonderful orientation and transition for them. Children waiting for an opening in the Fall who attend our summer program are given priority if an opening becomes available. Children NOT interested in Fall enrollment are still welcome to attend Children’s House in the summer if space allows.
•Our summer program for Toddlers, ages 20-36 months, is a four-week program. It begins on July 18 and ends on August 12. Toddlers attend from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday thru Friday. This 20 consecutive-day program is beneficial for helping your toddler acclimate to a Montessori school experience. The consistency and daily guidance in a small class-size setting, allows the teacher to get to know each child. If you are interested in Summer enrollment for your child (age 18-36 months), AND YOUR CHILD MUST BE ENROLLED IN THE FALL, please complete an Application for Admission and a Summer 2022 - Enrollment form. EXTENDED HOURS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR TODDLERS.
•Our Primary (preschool and kindergarten) summer program, for children ages 3-5 years, is from 9:00 - 1:00, 5 days per week, from June 20 - August 12. This year is a little different from past summer programs, as we will be offering two three-week sessions. Children can attend 2, 4, 6, or 8 weeks. Our primary summer program is similar to our yearly Montessori program with an added emphasis on art projects, cooking, gardening, music, geography, and science. See our Primary Summer Session Descriptions for details about each session’s theme. If you are interested in Summer enrollment for your child (age 3-5), please complete an Application for Admission and a Summer 2022 - Enrollment form. This form includes Summer rates and dates. Priority enrollment, for summer, is given to Children's House students.
•Our Elementary summer program is for children ages 6-12 and is also from June 20 - August 12. During these 2, three-week sessions, we focus on various studies such as life science, physical science, cultural studies, history, and geography, while typically incorporating drama, art, music, and cooking into each theme. Our Elementary teacher, Bill Ziegler, will teach both summer camp programs this year. Bill looks forward to sharing his expertise in both of the fabulous camps offered. See our Elementary Summer Session Descriptions for details about each session’s theme. If you are interested in Summer enrollment for your child (age 6-12), please complete an Application for Admission and a Summer 2022 - Enrollment form.
The Enrollment Form includes Summer rates and dates. Priority enrollment, for summer, is given to Children's House students.
A packed lunch should be sent with your child each day. Extended hours are available for children in Primary and Elementary, if there is enough interest.
