Support Teacher

Since a young age, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. My passion for teaching is driven by the goal of making a difference in children’s lives, and offering guidance during a critical stage of development. This formative period can have far reaching effects in the life of the individual. I greatly value the opportunity to be a positive influence in the lives of young children.

I grew up locally, and I was lucky to have received the experience of attending a Montessori school. After graduating High School, I majored in Child Development at Cuesta College. During my studies, I became curious about the Montessori method of education. I rediscovered all the positive aspects of this schooling method at this time, developing a passion for all things Montessori. I greatly value the independence, discipline, zest for learning, and confidence which is fostered in this learning environment. I decided to pursue Montessori teacher training through Montessori Northwest in Portland, Oregon. This training was an incredibly positive experience, and allowed me to deepen my knowledge of Montessori philosophy and curriculum. After receiving my Primary teaching credential, I made the decision to move back to the Central Coast. This is a beautiful area, and I feel lucky to call it home.

I now live in San Luis Obispo, with my dog Ellie. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, hiking, yoga, listening to podcasts. I love learning new things, and enjoy reading about various topics such as history and psychology.

This is my second year working as a support teacher in the Toddler room at Children’s House, and I have absolutely loved it. It is a pleasure to be a part of this warm and welcoming community.
